NEWS 2002

29/12/2002 For the people followin' the adventures of The Dirty Scene Tour: here's the report of last night's gig with as usual a lot of interestin' linx.
23/12/2002 The report on our gig of last Saturday in Brakel can be read here.
09/12/2002 The Dirty Scums will sell again home-made liquor on the X-mas market of their hometown Schuiferskapelle. Read all about it.
30/11/2002 Obviously it will become a habit: a report on the Lendelede-gig can be found here.
24/11/2002 Newspaper articles on The Dirty Scene Tour can be read here.
11/11/2002 We don't know if it will become a habit, but now we also wrote a report on the Mol-gig of yesterday evenin'. You can read it here.
09/11/2002 Yesterday we visited Bruges, more exactly we played in home brewery "De Brugse Bierkaai". You can read our report here.
02/11/2002 This mornin’ we came in from the first night of The Dirty Scene Tour which took place in youth centre "De Kim" in Oostende. You can read our report here.
27/10/2002 We started a nice co-operation with punkband Mise*en*Scene (who are also the people of the Full Contact Records-label and the Full Contact Resistance-organisation). The result is that we offer to gig-organisers a complete package with very nice conditions. This package consists of the bands Mise*en*Scene, The Dirty Scums and The Thirsty Scums (A Tribute to the Ramones). PressReport is available here, gigs can be found here.
21/09/2002 Last week, several users of Internet Explorer 6 reported us they had problems with the hover buttons on our site (and there are quite a lot). And indeed, for some fuckin' reason they saw non-clickable grey boxes instead of the buttons. As the problem seems to be in IE itself (hover buttons need a Java applet and there's no VM for Java in IE6), we decided to replace all our buttons by buttons written in Java-script. This is finally done now. Please do inform us when you have problems axessing or navigatin' our site.
31/08/2002 Release-date of the new album "R.A.M.O.N.E.S." will be the 7th of September. PressReport is available here, everything on the new CD can be read here, orders can be placed here. As we did before, the first five on-line orders of the weekend of 7 and 8 September will receive a present out of the mailorderlist.
13/07/2002 You can now listen to two of the new recorded songs : "Never alone no more" and "Care 'bout nature".
23/06/2002 Third and final day at the studio. Between 9.00 am and 9.30 am, Pik did the vocals of the remaining two songs and resung another one. Backing-vocals of these songs were also finished in half an hour. Then one song needed some additional percussion and another one  some additional backing vocals. All this was engineered by Jan, the owner of the studio. So when Dee-J arrived at noon there was only one thing left to do before he could start the mixing, and that was recording the vocals of a doll.  After this, Dee-J started to look for the right sound and balance. When we returned at 3.45 pm from a walk, Dee-J could let us hear already two mixed songs. After some correxions, Dee-J started the (hell of a) job to mix the 23 songs, and finished this at half past midnight. In the mean time, every now and then Jan loaded the mixed songs on his PC. So when Dee-J had finished, we could start drinking and Jan could start the mastering which was finished at 2.30 am. We finally left the studio at 3.00 am Monday morning with each of us holding a CD containing 23 new masterpieces. Our thanx to Dee-J and Jan for doing both a great job !
16/06/2002 Second day in the studio. Wakey wakey at the same time and arrival in the studio at the same time. After Dee-J arrived, we started with rerecording one song of which we weren't that satisfied. It was the intention to do the vocals today and after checking the sound and the mikes and the headphones, Pik could start to sing at 1.45 pm. In one song Pik lost each time the exact rhythm (185 bpm) and lost 45 minutes in total for just one song. However, at 5.00 pm the leadvocals of 21 of the 23 songs were recorded, Pik preferred to sing the other two on another day. Same thing as for the music: during an hour we listened to all songs with as a result that we rerecorded a part of the vocals of four songs. At 8.00 pm we could start to record the backing-vocals. After this was done, the beer tasted very very good, we stopped along the highway to buy us some more beer, and after we arrived in Tielt, we drunk some more pints in a pub to celebrate this studio-sessions. Zjantie had droven more than 500 km with his van during the weekend.
15/06/2002 Finally the big day: wakey wakey at 6.30 am to record our new album. It was one hour of driving to the studio, we arrived there at 9.00 am and started to set up our things in the studio. At 12.00 pm Dee-J started to arrange the sound of the drums, but it didn't satisfy him (for the fans of La Muerte: Dee-J is still in very good shape). The result of Keez telling him that Zjantie had another drum at home (even a new one !) was that Zjantie could go find his other drum at home. We finally could start the recordings at 5.00 pm. Due to the sweat of the real hot day, Zjantie lost a few times his drumsticks in the very end of some songs, so we had to repeat some of them, but at 8.00 pm all 23 songs were recorded. After an hour of listening to this new masterpieces, we noticed there were some songs played too fast and one even too slow. So we decided to rerecord four songs, after which we returned home (Zjantie for the second time that day).
10/06/2002 Due to the previous described problems with our guestbook, we started a new one today and we hope it's a better one this time. Feel free to sign our new guestbook, we're always pleased when you write something in it. We'll keep on trying to get back the old one, simply to have the possibility to read the old messages.
09/06/2002 Since 05/06/2002 there appear to be problems accessing our guestbook. We're not sure if everyone has this problem, but users of Internet Explorer versions 5.0 and 6.0 see a script instead of the guestbook. As we receive no answer to the mails we send to the owners of this free guestbook-service (www.freegbook.nu), we assume their service is unannounced closed. We suppose that's the risk with free services ? In the mean time we're looking for a solution.
03/06/2002 The Dirty Scums will record their new album on 15, 16 and 23 June. The intention is to record the musical part on the 1st date, to do the vocals on the 2nd day and to do the mix on the 3rd day. The studio and the studio-engineer (Dee-J La Muerte) will be the same as for the "Proud to be a Punk"-sessions. The album will contain 23 new songs and the release-date will probably be July 2002. The title is still a secret but it will be a nice surprise, as well as the 3 bonus-trax.
26/05/2002 PressReport on the official release-date of the website is available here. Sorry for all you girls and boys not speaking our language, but it's only avalaible in Dutch. Anyway, the first five on-line orders of the weekend of 1 and 2 June will receive a present out of the mailorderlist.
23/05/2002 Official release-date of the website will be on 01/06/2002. There will be special gifts for the first on-line mailorders of that weekend. Further details will follow on 26/05/2002 by a PressReport.
