THE BOOZE AND THE CHICKS

THE DIRTY SCUMS have given proof again of their immense kindness and great care for the public good by releasing a new album on mankind, which mostly isn't spoiled too much. Meanwhile it's their third album, and it's entitled THE BOOZE AND THE CHICKS, yes indeed, the beer and the girls, for not being too ponderous.

Through the years they have been able to practise their typical style, which characterized them already from the start, to different kinds of music styles. By these means they have avoided the pitfall to arrive in the one way traffic of a narrow musical canvas. At the same time that's done good benefit to the variety of their masterpieces, and especiallly this third album offers a variety of songs, with of course that same typical DIRTY-SCUM-'77-punk-sound, mixed with their never ending sense for humour. Everyone who already had the pleasure to meet THE DIRTY SCUMS or with one of their products knows that you don't have to take things too seriously in their world, and this time that's expressed in a great deal of their lyrix. Now they're talking about a frivolous neighbour's wife, a celebatarian postman, Clint Eastwood, about girls and all you can do with them, the Ramones, life on the road, briefly you can hardly blame them for being naive. Besides that, social engagement still rears his head here and there, but in a lesser degree.

This album has been released once more on their own label, DIRTY RECORDS, and it's already their sixth own product that has become a part of the cultural patrimony in this way. With that THE DIRTY SCUMS constitute themselves as one of the longest living curiosities in this declining world, and also as one of the bands that despite all trends, take their own unbridled course in a unique and independant way. You won't escape feeling yourself morally obliged to buy this new, fantastic album.

THE BOOZE AND THE CHICKS could be the answer to the current thinking in Belgium that it goes wrong with their bands and their music.
