NEWS 2016

10/12/2016 The last Saturday of November and the first one of December led us respectively to Genk and Herentals, both cities at quite some distance from our place. Both gigs were played on our own P.A.-gear, so both gigs definitely had some things in common, e.g. the departure was planned short after noon. In Genk we played with Centillion, Dying Egos (organizers of the gig) and Real Bad Quitters. In Herentals we played with Battlefield and Unite Against Society, this gig was organized by Dirk from Funeral Dress. Both evenings and nights proceeded properly. They were the last gigs until the end of February as we will now rehearse for our new album which wil be recorded in February and released on our 35th Anniversary Gig on 06/05/2017.
27/10/2016 Last Friday we played for the first time ever with the legendary The Kids, in Roeselare. Pretty bizar when you know we're the oldest two Belgian punkbands. The Kids started in 1976, and gave it up from 1986 till 1996, what makes they're playin' now for 30 years. The Dirty Scums started in 1981, never gave it up, and play now for 35 years. The Kids are definitely a great band with an enormous number of great songs ! During our gig I had some technical problems with one of my amps, I hope the P.A.-man could tune up the sound with my other amp. For the rest we played pretty well in this great pub De Verlichte Geest.
25/09/2016 It's always a pleasance playin' in the Walloonish part of Belgium. On 16/09 we played in the beautiful city of Namur for the "Fêtes de Wallonie", for which the city (and other cities) are full of festivities during a whole week. Nice evening, nice people, pretty good gig, and amazing to see how the whole crowd sang along during the gig of headliner René Binamé.
18/09/2016 Last week we had another great edition of our own yearly small indoor free festival Rock@Schuiferskapelle. This 16th edition brought us great gigs of Freddy & the D'oghz (my familyband with my daughter, my son and my son-in-law), the Tielt-based hardrockband Daddy was Wrong and the awesome tributebands Curtis and Sladest, who respectively played covers from Joy Division and Slade. Thanx to Filmkesboer you can watch some songs at YouTube.
14/08/2016 Wat a wonderful festival in Dudzele where we played on 29/07. We had the time of our life at this festival organised just the way we would have done it ourselves. Thx Alex !
10/07/2016 Hey, nice pub there in Zulte where we played on 24/06. Despite the sound that could be better we played a decent gig, met some friends, consumed some reasonable couples of beers and returned home in the very very early morning :).
15/05/2016 It was an enormous job to release the Stagebeast-cd and the release-gig on 30/04 finally felt as a relief. Local punx The Empty Bottles kicked off the evening gloriously, we played with The Thirsty Scums a renewed set with about 20 punkcovers, legends The Definitivos proved they still kicked ass, Les Slaches did a great job with their Clash-covers and Funeral Dress proved again why they still are Belgians best known band.
01/05/2016 Again a gig with a big name, last week on 24/04 we played in Eernegem with Sham 69. Five years ago we also played with this band but since then Dave Parsons left the band. They also played with a new bassplayer and in a chat with him he appeared to be Henry Badowski, bassplayer of the famous Chelsea. He told he just had a few recordings behind the back the week before with no less a person than Steve Jones.
28/02/2016 We had our first gig of the new year on 17/02 and this one was in Brussels with two big names. Lester Greenowski played with his own band, but talkin' about big names, he plays also in a band with Honest John Plain from the Boys. Headliner was Richie Ramone, one of the drummers of Ramones, we had a nice chat with him and we look good on the pictures we took together with him :).
