Spermicide: Femme Prothèse/Belgique

Bloodstains says:

I (1997): "… Also from Brussels, Spermicide, who released one 7", 'Belgique' & this track on a 1981 compilation lp 'No Big Business' (Kleo records), that's mostly new wave but also has tracks from the Scabs & Underdogs. Spermicide was one of the few punkbands to sing in their native French language & was mostly known for the political/protest content of their songs."

II (1998): "... Spermicide from Brussels was also on Big Business, but you already got that track on Bloodstains I, so this time we give you the title track from their 'Belgique' 7" (notice how many punkbands found inspiration in this shitty country we live in, one of them was even simply called 'Belgium'), most copies came out without sleeve but with an insert. They never released anything else, but again a (demo)tape is floating around somewhere. They were among the most political of the Belgian punkbands & regularly played a Brussels squat where numerous battles with the cops were fought. After Spermicide singer/guitarist Krishna teamed up with a new drummer & bassplayer to found another punkband, Neo Arya, who released an album in the early 80's. Neo Arya's rhythmsection stayed active in various bands over the years & today they're playing in Europe's leading instrumental band, the Vice Barons (three albums out on Demolition Derby) as well as in the mod outfit Supersonic (7" out on Detour in the UK)."

Guy Delcroix (brother of singer Eric/Krishna (°1958 - +2011) says:

(01/2020): "Spermicide has never had a political claim, nor fought in squats with the police. All this is a fable."
