The Kids: The Kids

Killed by Death

'This is rock'n'roll' figures on KBD #6 (1993, reissue in 1998).

Bloody Belgium says (1997):

"... A band everybody knows about is the Kids from Antwerp, from their untitled debut LP this is 'Do you love the nazis'. No thanks, we don't !"

"... We conclude with 'Bloody Belgium' from the Kids and 'Old Rat' from Raxola, both songs off their debut LP's."

Bloodstains says:

I (1997): "We open with Belgium's most notorious punk band, the Kids from Antwerp, founded by docker Ludo Mariman, who had to chose between music & soccer (his brother chose for soccer & made the Belgian national team). Their debutalbum on Philips sold 8000 copies & just like their second album it's filled with all punkclassics, many of which have already been featured on other comps. Mariman was joined by two brothers, Danny, the bassplayer, only 14 years old & who could only play with the band on condition he was in bed by midnight & his brother Eddie, who was 19. They rose out of the ashes of a 1976 band, Crash, who accordingly to Mariman sounded like a bad Velvet Underground. When they kicked out the singer & the leadguitarist, the rest of the band founded the Kids. Because of his age, Danny wasn't allowed to enter the Cinderella, an Antwerp club, at noon to have a drink, but in the evening he was there again, this time to play with the Kids ! 'Fascist cops' is from their first album, 'The Kids' released in 1978. In 1996 the Kids did a bunch of reunion concerts in Belgium (mostly playing summerfestivals), Germany & France."
