GODDESS - 02/09/2007

Hello fuckerz !!!, holidays are well and truly over or are they ?

If you were in Zottegem last night it was a holiday moment in itself. Shit was it a party and if you were not there you missed something excellent, and it was all because of the crowd !! Get into the mosh pit if you dare !

Bless This Mess

It kicked off with a local band "Bless This Mess", hey guys keep up the good work. It amazes me as to the excellent level of playing amongst the youth of today, and yet individuality and real talent is few and far between. The big breaks come for a handfull only. But the kids are into Punk as much as when I was a snotty brat, and I do not envy them the task of trying to make it today. So the guys from "Bless This Mess" had a public wanting fired up and they did just that, got them ready and wanting more.

The Hellies

Hey, hey a Hellie moment was a coming. And tonight guys you were effing brilliant. The longest set I heard so far and the best delivered. Was it the fact that the atmosphere was electric at the venue. Also the gigs in Scotland are coming closer ... yey a Hellie adventure ... things are seeming more final, real ? I know that they are going to love you guys in Haggis land (yuk). And who would not, happy offstage and happy on stage and it shows through and through. An infectious attitude of not taking themselves too seriously is the base of this band. And like Punk bands of yore, it was all about fun, lets leave the serious stuff to others we are all about fun !! To me that was what Punk is about, you choose your message and take a stance. Like it ok, loathe it, it is still fuck the establishment and stereotypes that we don't want  to or need to follow. And Annie, for a gurl, you can hold your own as well with the guys, saw and heard that in the song "Run" with War Risk 3 ... Look out Scotland here come The Hellies. Look sweet and innocent, ha ha, watch out!!

War Risk 3

Well by this time I was wondering how the walls and the roof were going to stay on, I know how these guys play. And then some one shut the door ... oh !oh ! this is going to be an experience ! Bam !!!... ever been on a fairground ride that makes your guts stay on the ground as your brain and body are flung back in your seat. Yes that about decribes how it felt. If you want a rollercoaster of a musical ride then come and see this band if you dare. Knuckle white, gut wrenching and ass tight clenched  thrill .... and you still scream ... WAAAAAAAHHH !!!!!, and enjoy every moment of the ride of your life ... he he. So where was I, watching the kids go wild, the families and friends go wild as the music seemed to be driving everyone into a frenzy. This set had more sex drive in it than any steamy hardcore porn film. Heat you could taste, sweat that clung to one and all and dripped of the band, air so thick with smoke it stung but felt good, and the crowd wanting more, insatiable, greedy for the music. And Wim making them sing, come to me and play my tune, dance to my wish ... and we all did !! A moment of pure control ... Wim power, War Risk 3 power.

The Dirty Scums

Well by this time I was mentally fucked (not literally) and there was still one band to go. The Dirty Scums, thank god they took a break, we had to get our breath back. By this time it was the die hard Punks that were left as Dirty Pik (who I thought was Dirty Pig, thanks Anja for the explicit explanation in flemish of Dirty Dick), oops excuse me while I die looking at a guy called Dirty Dick and try not to laugh. But they soon wiped the laugh of my face, Punks since for ever !! They know their stuff and were thrashing out songs I did not know but everyone else did. Had the guys back out there in the pit ... bopping  away. Me I was watching from the bar and enjoying the show ... and yet again it got stopped ... aargh effin hell.

And yet again the night was ended abruptly by the boys in blue, running late, must stop. Oh bollocks to timing and clocks.

When I eventually got home past 4 am I knew I did not need to write down as I usually do the feelings and what I remember from last night or should I say this mornings show. All the emotion is still there.
