PRESS - NO SANCTUARY
IF THE BARKEEPERS ARE UNITED, THE SCUMS WILL NEVER BE DIVIDED
NO SANCTUARY #8 (CHE) - April 1992
Yeah, yeah, the title looks pretty funpunk, eh ? This even might be true for
some tracks but is surely not true for all the songs. In fact you will find very
political/engaged songs mixed with fun songs and even twelve cover songs. OK, to
stay true to the title, first side was recorded in a pub and the second side is
live. One side has ten new (?) Scums-songs, while the live side has twelve songs from
Sham 69, covered here by the Scums. And I haven't spoken about the booklet !
This has all the lyrix, song explanations, recording details and a complete
Sham 69 story/discography. Bloody hell, this is absolutely great and I can only
recommend this ! Yours for 250 BEF. (PS. of course you'll find "If the Kids
are United" !). P
REALLY HIGH
NO SANCTUARY #0 (CHE) - March 1993
The title here can be taken seriously, The Dirty Scums play for ten years now,
and so this is a special release. There are three songs: two own songs that tell you
with who these guys are in love, and one medley. Full PunkRock here, dirty and
fast, like the bandname already says. Well, what's the special thing then, you
might ask ? It's the "Ramones-medley", where they combine eleven songs in
one by their fave band. And it is a lot more lively than the originals. The second
special thing here is that the EP is limited to 333 copies. After three LP's,
two
7"es and three tapes The Dirty Scums offer their third EP and celebrate their
tenth anniversary. Happy birthday ! One of the last punkbands that have serious
and not so serious lyrics, and after all these years they are still D.I.Y. ! P
